Wishing a happy and
prosperous New Year to all visitors. I just managed to catch the
new year's day sunrise from home, with the Ben-my-Chree heading off on
the morning sailing to Heysham completing the picture. Panasonic

I'm just doing a test
here on compiling new web pages using the revised picture navigation buttons.
These pictures are scans from original colour slides taken in 1990, the
year I moved to the Isle of Man and well before I had any considerations
of producing a web site, I probably didn't even know what one was then!

Some pictures from two
locations yesterday afternoon. After gales and heavy rain in the
morning, I had hoped to get some pictures of large waves when the weather
improved in the afternoon, but a combination of low tide and decreasing
wind thwarted that! Nikon D7100 6/1/20

Moving on to Kallow
Point, Port St Mary, in time to catch the sunset.

A trip out yesterday
afternoon to get a few pictures of the light snow covering that had fallen
on high ground overnight. While I was up on the Mountain Road though
I noticed that the visibility across the water to Scotland was excellent,
with the sun illuminating the land, unlike the Isle of Man which had thick
cloud.

Yesterday was the first
day in 2020 that I managed to get any flying done for aerial photographs.
It was sunny with light winds in the morning so a had a quick trip up to
the Creg-ny-Baa area for a couple of flights with the little Spark.

The weather had started
to deteriorate in the afternoon but I decided to have a walk from Bungalow
to Snaefell summit. It was rather breezy on the way up but wild at
the summit, quite difficult to hold the camera steady and very noisy with
the wind blowing through the radio masts. Panasonic TZ200 10/1/20

A few pictures taken
in a rather damp and gloomy Laxey yesterday afternoon. All are combinations
of multiple exposures using HDR techniques to bring out some of the colours
a little better on a dull day. Nikon D7100 14/1/20

Some aerial and ground
level photography in Druidale yesterday morning. DJI Phantom 4 Pro

A walk in the hills
yesterday afternoon, starting from the Brandywell road and climbing up
Beinn-y-Phott before continuing across to Carraghan before returning.
Unfortunately, in my haste to get out while there was still good light,
I forgot to take a camera! Photos are from my phone, better than
nothing.
