Jurby Airfield.  Constructed for the RAF in 1938 as a grass airfield with tarmac runways added in the early 1940s  Designed as a training airfield, fighter aircraft were also based here until the purpose built airfield at Andreas came into use in 1941.  Now rarely used for aviation it is more usually a racing circuit for motorcycles and a meeting is taking place in this picture.
