8th May
A series of pictures taken last Saturday afternoon on a walk in the hills above Sulby Glen, visiting three of the many tholtans, or abandoned farms, that are scattered around the hillsides here.  Looking at the map, I think that there are at least eleven distinct tholtans within 12 square kilometres.  I am indebted to Ray Kelly's excellent 'Manx Tholtans' book for information on these old farmsteads.

19th May
One from the Ramsey aerial images trip on the 7th - I'd forgotten that I took a series of pictures to experiment with combines several to
produce a panorama.  This is from three originals combined on the computer and I think has worked really well.  DJI Phantom 4 Pro  7/5/17

21st May
Some more aerial pictures, taken yesterday afternoon.  Not the best of days for flying as there was a moderate south-westerly breeze blowing and by the time I had arrived at the first location, a lot of thick cloud was building up over the hills. -  DJI Phantom 4 Pro  20/5/17

Druidale - I had planned on flying from three locations along the road, but in the end the light was poor and I only tried the first one.  There was a big contrast in lighting between the shadows on the ground and the bright sky so these pictures are each combinations of three original 'bracketed' shots taken with the drone, then combined in Paint Shop Pro X9 using HDR techniques to produce an acceptable contrast range.

After giving up on the Druidale photography, due to the ever increasing cloud cover, I headed north ending up as far north as you can get in the Isle of Man - the Point of Ayre, where it was much brighter and generally sunny, but with increasing wind speed so  didn't fly there for very long.
